Helpline Inc/The Oromocto Food Bank is a charitable organization that has been serving the greater Oromocto and outlying areas since 1987.
Our Mission

In support of our mission we believe:
- All people seeking our help should be treated with compassion, dignity and understanding
- Our clients deserve the highest quality foods that are possible for us to provide
- The spirit of community and volunteerism is our strength and our primary resource
- And, we are accountable to our community for the programs and services we deliver
We believe healthy food builds healthy communities. Our food bank provides fresh, nutritious, and non-perishable items in monthly hampers for those facing food insecurity. This is possible through our partnerships, programs, volunteers and staff.

The organization serves a population of over 35,000 within a 70 kilometer radius from the Town of Oromocto boundaries that includes Sunbury County, Queens County, including:

Our Facility
Our 6,000 square foot energy-efficient facility is wheelchair accessible and includes:
- Food Distribution Warehouse – Ensuring efficient food access.
- Large Refrigerators & Walk-in Freezers – Preserving fresh, nutritious food.
- Class 4 Licensed Teaching Kitchen – A space for learning and community gatherings.
- Vegetable and educational Gardens – 28 raised garden beds, a beautiful gathering space for BBQ, events.

Our People
The Oromocto Food Bank runs with minimal paid staff and is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our annual operating budget is $375,000, carefully governed by a board of directors made up of committed community members. Every dollar you contribute goes directly to helping those in need.
